Vintage Inspiration

(images found on various blogs)

I guess you could say our theme is Shabby Chic.  I'm loving the vintage books and mason jars. We've been collecting votives and glass from Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity.  We also want to incorporate teaching into the theme with the use of chalk boards.  Justin is a kindergarten teacher and I think it gives a personal touch.  And those adorable round flowers at the top are Craspedia Billy Balls, I even love the name.  Those are definitely going to find their way into bouquets and boutonnieres.

Take your time...

I know so many people can't believe our wedding day is so far away, a year and a half.  I've been to a lot of weddings, and I know first hand the stress that can take over as the BIG day approaches.  This is our attempt at avoiding as much of that stress as possible.  We've chosen the venues, photographers, dress, etc. and our deposits are in.   And that feels good, and calm, and under control.

It's also important to remember that in the Wedding World, vendors are booked up further out than you might think.  So if you have your heart set on something go ahead and reserve it.  As was the case with On Broadway for us.  When we met with them they were pretty much full for the rest of 2011 and someone else was already inquiring about another date in May 2012.  Luckily their date was later in the month.

So ladies get organized and take your time, as much as you need.
